Upo Wetland can be divided into Upo, Mokpo, Sajipo, and Jjokjibeol, and is the largest natural inland wetland. Upo Wetland is said to have been formed approximately 1.4 hundred-million-years ago. It was designated as a natural preserve according to the Ramsar Convention.
